Alexander Alekseev FSB. Defenders of the Fatherland: Alexander Alekseev. Director of the FSB of Russia

Alekseev Alexander Ivanovich – head of the personnel department of the Directorate of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Komi Republic, lieutenant colonel.

Born on September 30, 1952 in the city of Ukhta, Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, now the Komi Republic. From the workers. In 1970 he graduated from secondary school No. 3 in Ukhta, in 1975 – from the Ukhta Industrial Institute. In 1975, he worked as an engineer in the Komineft association of the USSR Ministry of Oil Industry.

In 1975-1976 he served in the Soviet Army, serving in the troops of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany. Since 1976, he worked as a foreman in the Directorate of VET "Komigazprom", since 1977 - in the research sector of the Ukhta Industrial Institute, since February 1980 - retired secretary of the Komsomol Committee at the Ukhta Industrial Institute. The student construction team of the institute, headed by him, was recognized as one of the best in the republic.

In the KGB of the USSR since 1982. Served in the positions of detective officer of the city department of the KGB of the USSR in the city of Ukhta, senior detective officer and head of the department of the KGB of the USSR in the city of Sosnogorsk, Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Graduated from the Higher Courses of the KGB of the USSR in Minsk. Since 1993 - Head of the Personnel Directorate of the FSB of Russia (until 1995 - Federal Counterintelligence Service of the Russian Federation) for the Komi Republic.

Despite the quite comfortable rear position of a personnel officer, he volunteered to be a senior group of employees of the republican FSB who were going on a business trip to the Chechen Republic during the first Chechen war. Since February 1996, the group was housed in the Russian FSB dormitory in Grozny. Showed personal courage and determination in difficult situations. The mission was nearing completion when, at dawn on August 6, 1996, several hundred Chechen militants entered Grozny and seized the most important highways and strongholds of the capital of the republic.

Large forces of militants were deployed to take the hostel of the Russian FSB, where 90 of its employees, weapons and valuable operational documents were located. Their possession was so important that at first the militants asked the employees to surrender. Then just go back to your own people with weapons, then they even offered to do it for money. The answer was a categorical refusal. Then a fierce battle began. Lieutenant Colonel A.I. Alekseev turned out to be the senior rank among the Russian FSB officers in the building, and therefore immediately took command.

He distributed defense sectors, appointed a commander to each of them, established ammunition accounting, provided medical care to the wounded, and gave dozens more necessary orders. And then he took the machine gun and went to the most difficult parts of the battle. Under his leadership, the fighters held out for two days. A.I. Alekseev himself received two wounds, but after providing medical assistance he returned to duty. Numerous hits from grenade launchers and tank guns caused a fire to start in the building, and most of the soldiers were injured. But the enemy attacks were repulsed one after another.

On the night of August 8-9, during the breakthrough from the building to the main forces of the Russian troops, he led one of the groups breaking through. In this battle he was killed by a sniper shot. Subsequently, with heavy losses, the defenders broke through to their own. The militants received an almost completely burned building and ashes from destroyed documents.

He was buried in the capital of the Komi Republic - the city of Syktyvkar at the Krasnozatonskoye cemetery.

By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation (“closed”) of September 9, 1996, for the courage and heroism shown during the performance of a special task, Lieutenant Colonel Alekseev Alexander Ivanovich awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumously).

Lieutenant colonel. Awarded the medals “For Labor Valor” (1981), “For Impeccable Service” 3rd degree.

By order of the director of the FSB of Russia, he was forever included in the lists of personnel of the FSB Directorate for the Komi Republic (2010). At the school building in Ukhta, where the Hero studied, a memorial sign was erected in his honor (1999), and in the school hall there is a memorial plaque (2010). The monument was erected near the building of the FSB Directorate for the Komi Republic in Syktyvkar (2000). Also, memorial plaques are installed on the building that previously housed the USSR KGB department for the city of Ukhta and on the building of the Ukhta State Technical University (2012). A street in Ukhta is named after him.

Hero of Russia Alexander Alekseev was named an honorary citizen of Komi

The corresponding decree was signed by the head of the republic.

The highest honorary title “Honorary Citizen” was awarded to Alexander Alekseev(posthumously), the press service of the head of Komi reported. Previously, A. Alekseev was awarded the title “Hero of Russia” (posthumously).

The decree of the head of Komi states: “For particularly outstanding services in protecting the life and health of people, award the highest honorary title of Komi “Honorary Citizen” to A. Alekseev, the head of the department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the republic (posthumously).”

*** Alexander Ivanovich Alekseev was born in 1952 in Ukhta. After graduating from school, he studied at the Ukhta Industrial Institute (UII) and worked in the Komineft and Komigazprom associations. Having become an employee of the UII, he revived the KVN movement and the work of construction student teams. In 1982 he became an employee of state security agencies.

The title of Hero of Russia A. Alekseev was awarded posthumously on September 9, 1996. As deputy head of the FSB department for Komi, the lieutenant colonel was sent on a six-month business trip to Grozny. From August 5 to 6, militants captured the city. About 90 fighters took up defensive positions in the FSB dormitory near the government building. It was no longer possible to leave the city. A. Alekseev, as a senior in rank, led the defense of the hostel, which became a key point on the path of the separatists. A large detachment of militants tightly surrounded the building on August 7, after which the attacks began.

By that time, A. Alekseev had already been wounded in both legs, but continued to lead the defense. By midnight on August 8, it was decided to divide the defenders of the hostel into four groups of 15-20 people, each led by an experienced combat officer. The group that escaped from the siege, in which the Ukhta resident was located, had already gone halfway when a grenade exploded next to him. About 70 people were able to escape from the encirclement. According to the participants in those August events, it was thanks to skillful leadership that losses during the defense of the hostel were reduced to a minimum.

This short story is about one of the country's heroes, Alexander Alekseev, who died in the first Chechen campaign. In memory of him, a bust and a memorial sign were erected in Syktyvkar.

Photo: During the years of service in Group “A”, Alexey Sergeev acquired skills, knowledge and abilities - all that was useful to him later when he headed the Special Operations Directorate of the Central Special Operations Center of the FSB of Russia

IN MEMORY OF SPECIAL FORCES GENERAL ALEXEY SERGEEV

The head of the Special Operations Directorate of the Special Purpose Center of the FSB of Russia, Major General Alexei Sergeev, died in August 2017 after a serious illness.

The Russian press never wrote about him. At all. His photograph, if occasionally appeared in our newspaper Spetsnaz Rossii, was only in group photographs of Alpha veterans, and then when General Sergeev was in civilian clothes and not in uniform.

This, unfortunately, is the fate of many state security officers: the country learns about them only after their resignation or... death. And little has been written, until now, about the structures and divisions they led, as well as the deeds they committed under the heading “top secret.”

Colonel Alexander Mikhailov, who came to Group “A” of the Seventh Directorate of the KGB of the USSR in the early 1980s and then headed the operational-combat department of Directorate “A” of the Special Purpose Center of the FSB of Russia, talks about his comrade and colleague in the legendary “Alpha”.

...The first time I saw Alexey was in the gym on Petrovka, 26 in the middle of the summer of 1982. The 1st squad of Group “A” was training in hand-to-hand combat. Mikhail Sidorov, then already a recognized hand-to-hand fighter, worked together with Alexey.

From the outside it was clear that Alexey had previously been involved in boxing. Hard, sharp - the energy just splashed over the edge. Mikhail explained something, showed, corrected and asked to repeat it again.

In the fall of the same year, I was enrolled in the 1st department of Group “A”. Joint trips to shooting ranges, working at the shooting range, and training in the gym gave us the opportunity to take a closer look at each other and get closer.

Lyosha is a purposeful, deeply decent, straightforward person who was not afraid to speak the truth to his face, which is why some people didn’t like him. But we became friends...we became strong friends, “for the rest of our lives.”

Over the years of our friendship (and this is more than thirty years), there was everything - disputes, when each of us defended our position, and irritation, and omissions, but this never gave us the right to cross the line of friendly relations, mutual understanding and mutual respect. Because friendship was born in Group “A”, tested, established and strengthened in combat operations and life situations.

During his service in Alpha, Alexey Viktorovich participated in many combat operations and operational activities, including an internship in Afghanistan. Directly participated in the release of hostages and neutralization of terrorists in Tbilisi, Ufa, Saratov, Sukhumi. He also participated in the arrests of intelligence agents from Western countries.

In the late 1980s, when chaos began in the country, he, as part of a unit, traveled to the “hot spots” of the Soviet Union. During these turbulent years, another distinctive feature was noticed in Alexei’s character - his reliability.

I never noticed that he wanted to withdraw, to find some excuse to evade the business trip. Unfortunately, in Group “A” they were so cunning. I never heard him say the words “I can’t go,” “I’m not ready,” “I have family matters,” etc. Indeed, Alexey Viktorovich was ready for all the hardships and hardships of the special forces service.

The special operations in which Alexey participated qualitatively demonstrated his professional training, courage, determination, reliability and ability to work in a team.

By the early 1990s, Alexey Viktorovich Sergeev’s suit had two orders and the sign “Honorary State Security Officer”, a medal “For Courage” and others, and this was worth a lot.

But the main thing is that over the years of service in Group “A” and participation in combat operations, Alexey acquired skills, knowledge and abilities - all that was useful to him later when he headed the Special Operations Service of the TsSN (later the Directorate of Special Operations of the TsSN of the FSB of Russia).

Perestroika, started by the henpecked Westerner Mikhail Gorbachev, also affected Alpha. In the early 1990s, layoffs and transfers to other departments began. Alexey Viktorovich was offered another job in the Russian state security system - he accepted this offer, and then became, as already mentioned, the head of the Special Operations Directorate of the Central Security Service of the FSB. But the friendship and human relationships that developed during our service in Group “A” remained with us for many years.

Admiral Pavel Stepanovich Nakhimov has an expression that is beautiful in its semantic load: “Sailors have no easy or difficult path, there is only a glorious one.” These wonderful words of the great naval commander can be fully said to Major General of State Security A.V. Sergeev.

Indeed, he went through a difficult but glorious path from lieutenant to major general, he passed it selflessly, with honor and dignity.

Everything was on this difficult path - ups and downs, the joy of victories and the bitterness of losses. But there was also the main thing - service to the Fatherland, loyalty to high military duty and officer's honor.

For many years of service in various positions, for his dedication to military duty in ensuring the security of the country, one can say simply and succinctly about Alexey: Man, Officer, Patriot. You could go on reconnaissance with him and know for sure that this one would not betray, would not abandon in difficult times and, of course, would share the last cracker.

Major General A.V. Sergeev, with his deeds, actions and attitude towards the assigned work, proved that “life was not lived in vain.” He accomplished a lot in life, did a lot, but he just didn’t have time to retire and finally rest.

Major General Alexey Sergeev is buried at the Russian Special Forces Memorial at the Nikolo-Arkhangelsk Cemetery. The entire leadership of the Special Purpose Center of the FSB of Russia, veterans and current employees of Alpha came to say goodbye to him.

Vice-President of the International Association of Veterans of the Alpha anti-terror unit Vladimir Eliseev:

— Alexey Viktorovich was a modest man in life, unmercenary. He happily shared everything he had with his family and friends. He cared for the honor of his unit and took care of providing it with everything necessary. In the service, Alexey never put up with “background” roles, but always strove to the forefront, in the thick of danger. Therefore, he took an active part in operational activities carried out by the unit.

Later, after leaving Alpha as a major and enlisting in another special forces unit, he reached impressive heights in his military career. However, he never changed his attitude towards his friends and until the end remained for us the same employee of Group “A” with whom he once came to the unit... I never heard an unkind word from him about anyone. Eternal memory to him! We will always remember our comrade in arms.
